I have been pretty busy lately so I haven’t had time to update this. I’ve moved things around and added a couple tanks. I currently have 7 tanks running and 1 tank in the process of getting scaped.
Here are my tanks in the basement:

I’ve setup 3 more tanks since I last updated. The two 12 gallons toward the end of the office table and the 5 gallon on the right side of the picture are new. In the 3 tanks that are lined up together, the one on the left is my wild tiger shrimp tank, in the middle is a golden white shrimp tank and the one on the right end of the table is currently holding some green neon tetras, otocinclus and threadfin rainbows. It will soon be used as a breeding tank for black cherry shrimp.
Alright now I’ll go down the list from left to right starting with the 20 gallon CRS breeder:

Nitrate: <5
The CRS are doing great. They are breeding but with very low survival rate for the young. Something like 50% survive from every batch. I guess its just a result of many generations of selective breeding. I currently have 5-10 berried females. I’ve heavily culled them for 3 months now and almost all of them are solid white and almost all offspring are SS grades. Once in a while I get a SSS. I’ve also added a few new shrimp for genetic variation and to improve the color patterns of my colony. I got 2 really nice pieces of SS grades from a breeder in

This is a SSS that came from my original colony.

One that I bought. It got berried just 2 or 3 days ago! I’m looking forward to some SSS babies soon.

The orange bees are breeding but very slowly. The survival rate is ~10%. I just saw an adult eating up a dead baby today…… at least I see some babies walking around. I have ~5 berried females right now hopefully I get a higher survival rate this time. In the recent batch of orange bees, I saw some really nice shrimp with really cool color patterns.
Here is one of them, I have about 2 or 3 more. I’m thinking about selectively breeding these for all black shrimp but I haven’t gotten to it yet.

Tigers were breeding like crazy but they slowed down recently as all the adults started to die off due to old age. I have a ton of juveniles but barely any adults. All are showing amazing colors. I can’t wait till they become adults.

This tank was setup a couple days ago and it’s currently housing ~10 green neon tetras, 2 threadfin rainbows and 2 otocinclus. Once I setup my mini-L upstairs, I will move these guys and put the black cherries in this tank.
2 gallon

I got 2 pieces of plastic cut from tap plastics with a 1 inch hole drilled through the middle for low, slipped it in the slots of the tank and sealed the sides with silicone. This tank was made for selective breeding. It’s cycled but I still haven’t put any shrimp in yet.

The rams

pH: 6-7
temp: 80-82*F
I wanted to get these guys the moment I saw them. Extremely expensive compared to the regular rams but I thought it was worth it. I have never seen this variety before. I currently only have one pair because the seller wouldn’t sell his other pair. I’m working on breeding them and I’m feeding frozen bloodworms and California Black worms everyday.
